Xi’an is one of the great old cities of the world. You can find Xi’an in the Yellow Basin area of China . It is the capital of Shaanxi Province. It is just to the west of Henan Province. It is located in the southern part of the Guanzhong Plain. The Qinling Mountains are to the north and the Weihe River is to the south of it. One of the most famous things you will find in Xi’an is the Terracotta Warriors. These life-sized soldiers and horses were one of the most important discoveries of the 20 th century. Some farmers discovered them in 1974 about 1.5 kilometers east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s Mausoleum. They are very ancient. In 246 BC, Qin Shi Huang started work on the warriors. The museum is very big. It is 16300 square meters.
