Once, golf was completely unfamiliar to me. Where I’m from, 1 wealthy people play this sport. But then I learned of the Evans Scholarship, which 2 too good to be true: I could earn a(n) 3 place at university by caddying ( 打高尔夫 ). I’ll never 4 the day I met Josiah Neuhaus, who asked me to caddie the same day he interviewed me. He became my teacher and gave me 5 on how to become a great caddy. Training was 6 . Five or six days a week, I carried heavy golf clubs ( 球杆 ) around in the hot sun. By the time I got home each night, my entire body 7 , especially my hip. I suffered from a disease that stopped blood from flowing to my hips. 8 , I experienced a lot of pain. Mr Neuhaus, among many others, always had 9 me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. On top of the problems that came with my 10 , I also faced emotional struggles. I was a victim ( 受害者 ) of childhood abuse, something that I 11 every day to move past. It was this chance to go to the college of my dreams that helped me 12 my problems. For two summers, I 13 many of the golfers more than my own parents – they became my 14 . A community that had once been so 15 to me became my home. When I received the Evans Scholarship, I was in complete 16 . I had finally reached my 17 ! Today, I’m 18 to say I’m an Evans scholar, a senior at Notre Dame, and an aspiring ( 有抱负的 ) doctor. I may have scars ( 创伤 ) from my 19 , but they have shaped who I am today. The 20 I once had on the golf course are now coming true.
