Dear Peter , I got back from my pleasant visit to you in Quebec. I 1 that it was so easy for Americans to cross the border between Canada and the United States. My friend Mr. Smith, who 2 me back, has a car with a New York license. He told 3 customs inspector that we were all from New York. He told the inspector that we hadn't bought 4 in Canada. The inspector just waved his hand, and we drove 5 the border. Mr. Smith said that they sometimes stop cars and search them. Last week they knew that someone 6 drugs across the border, so they searched every car. But 7 the border is usually quite simple because Canada and the United States have 8 friendly relations.
