The World Trade Organization (WTO) was established in Geneva on 14 December 1993, as the guardian of a series of rules based on trade. The WTO is a dynamic (21) for ensuring that these trade rules and their effectiveness can well keep up with the (22) of the world economic development. Up till now, the WTO has 132 members with another 31 in the (23) of accession. Of the 132 members, 98 are developing countries, including 27 nations defined as the least developed countries.
