Qi Qiao Festival and Valentine's Day Double Seventh Festival is also called Qi Qiao Festival, a traditional romantic festival in China particularly popular among young people. According to legend, Niu Lang (the cowherd) and Zhi Nu (the weaver girl) may get together on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. In ancient times, girls would offer fruits and food to Zhi Nu on the night of the festival, praying for skillful hands like the goddess’s to weave with so they can find their ideal husbands. Valentine's Day, also called Saint Valentine's Day, is celebrated annually on February 14. Originating as a Western Christian feast day honoring one or two early saints named St.Valentinus, Valentine's Day is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world. People exchange cards, candy or flowers with their special “valentine” on that day.
