1) It has been our usual practice to do business with payment by D/P at sight instead of by L/C. 2) Our usual terms of payment are by confirmed, irrevocable letter of credit in our favor, payable (available) by draft at sight, reaching us 30 days before the month of shipment, remaining valid for negotiation in China for a further 20 days after the prescribed time of shipment and allowing transshipment and partial shipment. 3) We regret that we are unable to consider your request for payment under D/A terms. 4) Please see to it that the L/C stipulations conform strictly to the terms of the contracts so as to avoid subsequent amendment. 5) The banker’s transfer is a simple transference of money from the bank account of a buyer in his own country to the bank account of the seller in the seller’s country. 6) We may deferred payment if the quantity is over 8 000. 7) Much to our surprise, our draft on you dated 19 th March and due on 9 th April was returned dishonored yesterday by our bank. 8) The relative L/C should be issued through a third bank in the USA acceptable to the seller. 9) We have opened a letter of credit with ABC bank, in your favor, for US $ 10 000, covering (or against) your order No. 222, available until November 18. 10) I’m sure you will receive our payment no later than next Friday.
