At its simplest, reversible computing is a form of computing in which the system's entropy is nearly constant ? no information is discarded, or at least the amount of information that's ever discarded is reduced. Normal computing systems constantly produce entropy at a high rate, as is evidenced by their tremendous heat dissipation.
