Hello, everyone. I’d like to introduce the famous Quanjude Restaurant. Quanjude is famous for its Peking Roast Duck and its 1 culinary heritage. It was established in 1864 in Beijing. Just think it has been serving roast duck for nearly 150 years at this very same spot! The first Quanjude manager, Yang Quanren, started out selling 2 . Then, one day, he paid a 3 chef from the imperial palace for an imperial recipe. Soon after, Quanjude became the first restaurant in the world to serve roast duck, cooked as it was in the imperial kitchens, to the general public. Maybe you’d like to know what Quanjude represents. Once when Premier Zhou Enlai was hosting some important foreign guests at Quanjude, one of the guests asked, “What does Quanjude mean?” Premier Zhou answered, “Quan means ‘perfection without 4 ’, Ju means ‘gathering without departing’, and De means ‘virtues to be supreme’.” Therefore, Quanjude implies perfection, 5 and benevolence.
